Evaluation Services

Throughout its history, the firm has performed selected evaluation studies in areas that are of particular value to furthering its knowledge in its existing areas of anti-poverty expertise.

  • In 2003, the firm completed an evaluation of a 13-state youth development demonstration funded by the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) - The Positive Youth Development State Collaboration Project. Findings from that evaluation informed the design of FYSB's subsequent demonstration - the PYDSLC Demonstration Project.

  • In 2007, the firm was engaged by the California Endowment and the National Trust for the Development of African-American Men (NTDAAM) to evaluate The California Prison and Community Health Project - an innovative and transformative prisoner reentry project being piloted in San Quentin Prison. Lessons from the evaluation helped inform the design for the Community Service Gateway Project. Our report titled "The California Prison and Community Health Project: An Assessment of Promise" describes the project and details our findings.

  • Presently, the firm is engaged in evaluating FYSB's Positive Youth Development State and Local Collaboration Demonstration Project. The project will complete its final year in 2008 and a report will be available in early 2009.
